Mark Johnston Financial Solutions Interview

Johnston Financial Solutions x British Business Bank

Long-time client Mark Johnston of Johnston Financial Solutions tasked us with recording his interview with Suzan Nightingale Senior Manager of the British Business Bank.

Our aim was to create a long-form piece of content that would establish Johnston Financial solutions as an authority in their field and further educate small business owners about the support available to them from the British Business Bank.

Mark and Susan discussed the improved access to Small Business finance and the evolving funding landscape for Small business owners in Northern Ireland.

The interview was filmed in the Catalyst building in Derry/Londonderry.

Pre – Production

We worked in collaboration with one of our marketing agency partners, Agora Branding on the pre-production side of the video,

  • Location
  • Concept development.
  • Question scripting
  • Budgeting
  • Call time
  • Booking Inhouse / Freelance Crew
  • Equipment Lists
  • Risk Assessment
It was all taken care of!

This resulted in both Mark and Susan being very well briefed on the questions and reassured them that everything on our end was taken care of. Allowing them to focus on the interview and getting their message across.

On the day we worked as a team of four, including two Videographers, an Audio Engineer and a Director. As a result Mark and Susan looked good sounded good and knew exactly what they had to do.

The filming setup

This was a Multicam shoot using three cameras,  which makes for a much more engaging and enjoyable viewing experience,  we recommend Multicam for any shoot with more than one person as the additional camera angles allow you to cut from a wide shot to a close-up, which not only helps stop a scene from dragging on, it also adds depth to your story and greatly improves viewer experience and retention time.

The edit

The final video was put together by our in-house editing team.

We started by assembling the interview taking out any pauses between questions and making sure everything flowed as it should. We then moved on to adding the branding and text graphics.  At this point, the video was sent to the client for approval.  Once we knew they were happy we add the Captions to the video and sent it to our Marketing partner for distribution,
